Cell Phone Policy
2020-21
Students are not allowed to have cell phones during the school day.
- Student phones will remain in his/her locker for the entire school day.
- Students are permitted to check their phones at their locker during passing periods.
- However, if a student is tardy to class due to the delay, the student will incur a consequence from his/her instructor.
1st OFFENSE
Verbal Warning
- will be documented, via a behavior log in TeacherEase, by the faculty/staff member issuing the warning.
- The behavior log will state this is a warning and if the student is observed breaking the cell phone policy a second time, s/he will incur the consequence listed under ‘second offense’.
2nd OFFENSE
Confiscation of Phone . 24 Hours
- will be documented, via a behavior log in TeacherEase, by the faculty/staff member issuing the warning.
- The phone will be placed and locked in the office safe for 24 hours.
- A parent must come to school to retrieve the phone after the 24 hours.
- Phone will not be released to student.
3rd OFFENSE
Confiscation of Phone . 72 Hours
- The phone will be placed and locked in the office safe for 72 hours.
- A parent must come to school to retrieve the phone after the 72 hours.
- Phone will not be released to student.
- The parent(s) and student must also meet with administration.
4th OFFENSE
Confiscation of the phone . 120 Hours
- The phone will be placed and locked in the office safe for 120 hours.
- A parent must come to school to retrieve the phone and again meet with administration.
- Phone will not be released to student.
- At this point, the student may lose the privilege of being permitted to have a cell phone on campus.
