School Spotlights
Hello everyone,
The ANWSD school board is currently looking for 1-2 new student representatives to serve on the board. To qualify, you must currently be in 9th or 10th grade. Below is a description of the position:
The ANWSD Board of Directors purpose is to represent the entire ANWSD community in order to provide education for all students at a cost affordable to its community. Student representatives will work to gather information and solicit input from a wide variety of classmates. Student representatives will develop a strategy for disseminating information back to the student body. As representatives, students have a responsibility to attend to the entire District, not just their individual concerns.
We currently have 2 student representatives, Zoe Reid-St. John and Cal Gramling; however, they will be seniors next year, and we are hoping to have a year where the new student representatives can learn the ropes while being able to consult with Zoe and Cal.
The link to the application is below. Please consider this amazing opportunity to help empower student voices and help the ANWSD board understand student’s needs. The new representatives will be chosen in late May, and will be approved by the board at the June meeting.
Please reach out to zoreid-stjohn@anwsd.org or cagramling@anwsd.org if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Zoe Reid-St. John and Cal Gramling
