Truitt Middle School
March 2022
A NOTE FROM MS. GARCIA
Dear Truitt Community:
After much time and consideration, I have made the decision to retire from Truitt Middle School at the end of May. My final day on campus will be May 31, 2022. A new principal will officially begin in June 2022.
It is with mixed emotions that I type this letter. I have been blessed to work in CFISD for 35 years as a teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal and most recently, principal of Truitt for the last four years. I have enjoyed working with some amazing and talented educators. Education has been my life for 37 years and now it is time to move on to the next phase of my life.
There are several things I will miss, such as greeting students each morning, some good conversations with students, and seeing the students mature between 6th and 8th grade. I look forward to hearing their names out in the world for doing great things, and being able to say, I knew them when.
To you, our parents and community members, I want to thank you for your support and willingness to partner with the school to meet the needs of your children.
In the next few weeks our district leaders will begin the process of selecting a new principal for Truitt. Parents will have an opportunity to provide feedback about the qualities of the principal they would like to see at Truitt MS. Information about the process will be shared soon through School Messenger.
I will miss each of you, students, staff, and the community members dearly. I hope to have opportunities to visit from time to time. Truitt will hold a special place in my heart.
With warmest regards,
Yvette Garcia

CAR RIDER INFO
IMPORTANT CAR RIDER INFORMATION
The safety of our students is our first priority. Please make sure you are following these important car rider procedures.
*All cars need to move as forward as possible into the drop off zone before students unload.
*Do not let students out on the street. This is not safe for your student.
*Please make a right turn only when exiting the parking lot after dropping off your student. Left turns are not allowed and hold up the car rider line.
*When picking up your student at 2:50, please get in the car rider line. Students are walking in between cars and it is not safe.
*Please do not drive on the wrong side of the road to bypass everyone in the car rider line. It is dangerous to all drivers in cars and students on our buses.
Thank you for keeping our students safe.

FILL THE FRIDGE!
We are trying to schedule future staff appreciation events for our staff. It would be awesome if you could help fill the fridge for our staff to enjoy a cold treat during the school day! Donations can be dropped off at our front desk. Soft drinks, gatorade, water, and individually wrapped treats would be great! Staff appreciation is the first week of May.
Thank you!
