Skyview After School Support Program
The Skyview After School Support Program is where students can get extra help with classwork, homework, study skills and/or general topic review. Teachers are available to meet by appointment Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, in person or virtually, after school. Each session that you and your student sign up for is about an hour. To sign up for tutoring support, please fill out this Google Form to secure a spot for the week ahead: Skyview Parents will need to fill out weekly to ensure a spot. Students can come as often as they need, as long as they have an appointment. Students should bring all supplies needed for support including Chrome books and class materials.
Confirmations of sessions will be sent home on Fridays.
Career Day at Skyview
Skyview Upper Elementary School will be holding our annual career day, Friday, April 30th
Please consider joining our students to share your career experiences. We are searching for energetic community members to share information about their occupations with our students. As we share post-secondary options with students (2 year college, 4 year college, military, work, trade school), we would like representation from ALL fields.
New this year, you will have the opportunity to share a pre-recorded video (approximately 15-20 minutes) OR schedule a live zoom session. Suggestions for content would include: what your job entails each day, subjects you enjoyed in school, your career journey, basic education and continuing education required for your profession, a tour of your office including a visual of your “tools” and what you love most about your job . Please share job props as this helps students better understand what you do. If you or someone you know is interested, please complete the google form below by April 12, 2021 - (copy and paste in your browser or use link on attached PDF): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfwgyLNlfu-dgHD-tf8SZ8ndv0TZSfuTHuKvA0nKYv LUasR9g/viewform?usp=pp_url
You will be contacted to coordinate your presentation time if live zoom or provided information for preparing a recording. Please contact Skyview’s School Counselors: Beth VanBuren, 610-489-5000 ext. 34209 or bvanburen@methacton.org or Perly Hadrick, 610-489-5000 ext. 34208 dhadrick@methacton.org
Dismissal on Campus - Reminders
Effective March 1, 2021, car pick up for student dismissal on the Skyview & Arcola campus will begin at 3:00 PM. This will allow the buses to arrive and depart campus efficiently and drastically reduce the back up on Eagleville Road. Cars will not be permitted to line up in front of the Skyview & Arcola schools or enter the Skyview & Arcola campus for student dismissal until 3:00 PM daily. Security will direct vehicles that enter campus prior 3:00PM to turn left at the first stop sign and exit the campus.
If your student needs to be picked up for early dismissal, then the security guard will confirm that the student is on the daily list provided by the building or will radio the office for authorization. Once authorized, the guard will allow the driver to proceed to a parking spot to sign the student out per current policy.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
