THE PATRIOT PARENT CONNECTION
2023-2024 Week of March 25, 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we prepare for spring break, we wanted to let you all know how proud we are of our Patriots. They continue to work hard and have achieved so many great things this school year. We hope our students and families find time to relax and rejuvenate over the break. Taking care of the heart, soul, and mind is extremely important, so we encourage all to take a mental break from school. No new assignments will be given over spring break. Only a few days left! We can do this!
Love,
LMS Admin

March Money Madness
During March we are having a friendly March Money Madness competition between our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. All proceeds will go to The Place of Forsyth. Every penny equals one point. The grade level that donates the most pennies wins the most points. However, any silver coins dropped into any jar subtract points from that grade's total amount. We will total the points each week during March, and the winning grade level gets to create a selection of music to be played during lunch!
NURSE INFORMATION
RISING 7th GRADE IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT
Before starting the 2024-2025 school year; Per Georgia law, all public-school students born on or after January 1, 2002, and entering, advancing, or transferring into 7th grade in Georgia need proof of an adolescent pertussis (whooping cough) booster vaccination (Tdap) given on or after their 7th birthday and an adolescent meningococcal vaccination (MCV4) given on or after their 10th birthday. Proof of both vaccinations must be documented on the Georgia Immunization Certificate (Form 3231) by the first day of school for all 7th graders.
Where can a student get vaccinated?
Children should visit their health care provider or local health department to get their Tdap or meningococcal vaccination.
Once I confirm my student has received these immunizations, how do I let the school know?
The school nurse has access to the Georgia Registry of Immunizations and will be able to see when your student’s vaccinations are updated in the system. You are also welcome to email or call the school nurse at soberkrom@forsyth.k12.ga.us 770-781-4889 ext. 290120.
