For CUBS today, before you start your teambuilding activities, please share the following PowerPoint with students and have them scan the QR code at the end to fill out a short survey.
Student Advisory Committee Powerpoint.pptx
One of the MTSSB tier 1 focuses this year is building student pride in our school. One way we plan on doing this is by inviting interested students to participate in Student Advisory Committee. Students that are interested in participating with work with administration and the leadership team to tackle school wide issues while providing the student perspective that has been missing from the conversation for quite some time.
Please let students know that this committee will meet during school hours and will not require additional time commitments after school hours.
If you have any additional questions, please reply to sender.

CUBS Lesson for student-led conferences (Walentine): Here is the link to the first lesson to go through with your Cubs class on accessing their digital portfolio's. You should be going over this lesson with your students this week, Wednesday, September 29th with your advisory class. This is to show students how to access their notebook for Cubs and to make sure they have the correct documents in their notebook. You can also have them change the "other" sections to their classes if you have time or they can do that later when they have those classes.
SLC Student Presentation Lesson 1.pptx
Here is a separate presentation to show students how to open their notebooks using Teams and also how to reopen their notebook in OneNote (if they have a notebook open for a different class).
How to Open OneNote Class Notebooks Cubs.pptx

Duo Reminder: Last spring our District started rolling out Duo Multifactor Authentication to ALL certified staff. We currently have TWO-THIRDS of certified staff enrolled and using Duo.
We are continuing our campaign to get ALL users enrolled in DUO. If you haven’t previously enrolled in Duo you will receive an ENROLLMENT email from Duo with instructions and a link to enroll.
Please take the time to enroll yourself with Duo.
If you need assistance with enrolling, Building Technical Support and the HELP DESK (531-299-0300) are there to support.
Action Required:
ENROLL IN DUO MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION
What is Duo Security?
Duo Security is a company that provides a cloud-based software service that utilizes two-factor authentication to ensure secure access to services and data. Learn more by clicking here.
What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication provides a second layer of security to any type of login, requiring extra information or a physical device to log in, in addition to your password.
By requiring two different channels of authentication, we can protect user logins from remote attacks that may exploit stolen usernames and passwords.
Why do we need two-factor authentication?
Login credentials are more valuable than ever and are increasingly easy to compromise. Over 90% of breaches today involve compromised usernames and passwords.
Two-factor authentication enhances the security of your account by using a secondary device to verify your identity. This prevents anyone but you from accessing your account, even if they know your password.
How will Duo change my login experience?
When logging in to an application protected by Duo, you will still enter your username and password. After inputting your login information, Duo requires you to complete a method of second-factor authentication.
Duo does not replace or require you to change your username and password. Think of Duo as a layer of security added to your pre-existing login method.

Cubs PE Calendar: We had to update the cubs activity time and switched a few classes around. This change will begin in October. See either the attached calendar or the notebook is up to date also.
If you have any questions ask a PE teacher.
Reminders
Teachers
Remember to take attendance at the beginning of Every Class.
Mailing
If you have normal envelopes to mail out using the BMS envelopes, no stamps required. Do not seal them. The only envelopes you seal would be a 5x7 or larger envelope. These go in the purple bag which is inside the black box located in the mail room just inside the door on top of the 2- drawer cabinet.
Mailboxes
Please do not leave food in mailboxes as we don't want creepy crawly critters around.
Phone calls
If you call a parent, please leave your name on a voice mail so we can direct a call back to you or if you are in a class, we will Email you that they returned a call.
Mailboxes
If possible, please do not send students down to pick up items from your mailbox.

From Last Week
Volunteers Needed to have classroom recorded: For my next Principal Network meeting and the Secondary Instructional Leadership Network meeting (assistant principals, deans, IFs, etc.), I have been asked to share a video, about 20 minutes, of a teacher actively instructing his or her classroom. As a group, we will be looking at the video and reviewing it for Cognia tenets in Eleot, specifically B, C, and D in this document. I will be uploading the video in Stream to share with colleagues, and would take the video in the next two week. From the video, you would get a LOT of feedback from multiple instructional leaders in the district. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please email me, and we can chat. Thanks for considering.
Cubs Bookings PP: This is a resource that Mrs. Donaldson shared with her team. I think it is worth sharing with everyone. We have about 10 conferences booked so far. I created the attached PPT to show to my CUBs students tomorrow.
Feel free to download and use, change, or ignore!
Staff meeting: Here is the link to the Student Led Conference folder that was shared last night during the staff meeting. See Mrs. Walentine with questions.
