Rosa Parks Gets Arrested
Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat for a white person, which was against the law back then. Local African Americans organized the bus boycott. That meant African American would stop riding the bus. Jo Ann Robinson printed 30,000 newspapers asking every African American to stay off buses on Monday to protest of Rosa Parks' arrest and trial. That day the bus company lost $3000 in daily fees. Rosa Parks was also an active member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Martin Luther King, Jr. was also member in participating Montgomery Bus Boycott.
