WRIGHTSTOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WINS PHILLIE PHANATIC READING CHALLENGE
The Phanatic about Reading program is a program that Wrightstown has been participating in for five years now. The Phillies provide fabulous incentives such as books, posters, pencils, and bookmarks, to encourage students to read more consistently and develop a love of reading. There is always the possibility of winning a visit from the Phillie Phanatic, but this is the first time Wrightstown has won a visit! This year many of students read above the amount required to complete their reading logs for homework. Some read upwards to 60 minutes a night! This whole school was a part of this program, and in the hopes of the Phanatic coming to visit, students shared some reasons why the Phanatic should come to Wrightstown. Ideas included, Because we read a lot here at Wrightstown, We are really good readers!, and The Phillie Phanatic loves reading, and so do we!
