Free Books!
This summer, I weeded many sections of the library. Some books (like the ones in the picture) were thrown away, some were donated, and some are on carts in the picture book section waiting to find new homes in your classroom libraries. Feel free to come shopping anytime! I'll be donating anything still left on Friday, August 30.
New Keyboarding Program
This year all 3rd-5th graders should be using a new keyboarding program. We will be replacing UltraKey with something more visual. Keep posted for details. We'll help you set it up.
Recycle Electronics
Our school will now be earning money by recycling printer cartridges (inkjet and laser), cell phones, laptops, GPS, MP3 players, and headphones (not earbuds). Encourage your students to bring in these items from home and drop them off to the bin near the front door!

Library classes will begin on Monday, September 9.

Lisa out of the building August 27-30
I will be drinking a small amount of radioactive iodine on August 27 and will not return until after Labor Day. According to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, this will give plenty of time for the radiation to leave my body before returning to work. We are checking my thyroid.
