Six Weeks Reflections
Please take time to look at their report cards when they come home on Friday afternoon. Don't be afraid to have those critical conversations if you have questions as to why your children didn't do well in a class. Ask them what their favorite class is and why, and ask what their least favorite class is and why. Are they not successful because they are not interested in the lesson, or is it because they truly don't understand the material? Whatever answer they give you is a great reason to set up a parent conference. Talk to the teacher and ask as many questions as you can to learn what a day in your child's life is like in that class.
And, if your children have done well this six weeks, then please celebrate their successes. They need to know their hard work is not going unnoticed, and believe it or not, they still want your approval. They want to know you are proud of them, even if their success is a small one. Always find the positive in what your children do because middle school can be confusing and difficult if they don't have your support.
Thank you to those of you who attended my 1st Principal's Coffee. It was great to see you all; remember, we need you all to be partners in your children's education. I will be having my next coffee on Nov. 18, so please mark your calendars. Our topic will be 2nd six weeks reflections, along with another counseling presentation.
Please also take time to read our PTA newsletter. Our PTA board is working hard to get parents involved and keep everyone in the loop about how you can help your child achieve success at Neff. We are also working hard to provide wonderful activities for your children, so any help you can give us is truly appreciated.
Have a great week!

Administrators' Corner
- Ms. Shooby and Ms. Flores will be visiting 6th grade ELA classes this week to talk about respect-respect for self, peers, teachers, classes, their campus, and their community. Please ask them what they have learned, so you can continue to help us spread the word at home.
- Student attendance is extremely important, so when your child is absent, please make sure to turn in an excuse to the attendance office or any administrator.
The PSAT will be October 18th for 8th graders. Info will be coming home with report cards.
First six weeks celebration will take place Friday, Oct. 7, during all lunches. This celebration is for our students who did not receive an office consequence the 1st six weeks.
