Visual Supports-A picture is worth a thousand words!
Visual supports provides the learner the opportunity to engage in a desired behavior or skill independent of additional prompts. Visual supports can be used across setting from school, community and home. Visual supports such as schedules and picture cures can be effective in reducing transition time, time on task, and self help skills.
Implementation Steps:
* Visual supports are for individual learners
* Determine the forms of representation of the visual supports based on the learner's skills.
* The learner must be taught how to use the visual supports across settings and data should be collected on how the learner uses the visual supports.
* Visual supports should be used across settings and implementation should be taught to all individual's providing support to the learner.
