Mukilteo Elementary Falcon Spirit
From the Principal
Welcome to March! It is hard to believe that we are entering the final days of winter and that spring is just around the corner. Students are continuing to work hard as they try to extend their learning and meet grade level standards in all areas.
One way you can help your student is by making sure that they are doing regular reading at home and completing assigned math homework to give them additional practice. The graphic below is a good reminder for why reading 20-30 minutes every night is so important. Each student’s exposure to words through reading has a dramatic impact on his/her vocabulary development and their ability to access increasingly challenging text at each grade level in school. At our Friday Learning Improvement Time today we met in grade levels to look at student progress related to math and reading and you should have seen documentation related to mid-year diagnostics that came home this week. As a staff we are working to make sure that students and families are aware of their progress and celebrating their learning.
