Cold War Summary
At the beginning of the Cold War the U.S. and U.S.S.R. were in a heated race to make nuclear weapons. Though the Cold War is considered a war it is actually not it was just a heated conflict between two superpowers. Nuclear power wasn't the only problem between these two countries, the iron curtain was created to divide up communism and democracy . The U.S. and U.S.S.R. immediately made groups and formed alliances with other countries to try and prevent the others ideas from spreading. The U.S.S.R. tries to barricade Berlin creating a wall around it to prevent aid but the U.S. decides to fly aid over and the wall fails. Next there was the Korean War in which the U.S. sent in troops in the south to try and prevent communism from spreading. After this war the U.S. decided they needed to be aware of the domino theory in which once a country falls to communism others will follow. Both sides then place nukes facing eachother and then decide to call the nukes off and take them out.
