Cardinal Lab
employment, independent living skills, and opportunities.
What is our program?
- A chance for students to explore job opportunities in the community as well as build relationships with local employers.
- Practice functional math and communication skills on site.
- An opportunity for students to gain experience by participating in real world vocational tasks.
- Individualized for each student’s specific needs and goals.
- Practice job interview skills and build resumes.
Daily Living Skills
Laundry
Washing, drying, folding and hanging clothes. Students are required to wear uniforms and practice washing these daily.
Kitchen
During the 2016-2017 school year we were fortunate to purchase brand new equipment and remodel our kitchen area.
Cooking
Students participate in weekly cooking classes and are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Students bake every week in preparation for our weekly bake sale at the Mentor Civic Center.
Public Transportation
Students have the opportunity to practice riding Laketran to and from job sites in Lake County. There is potential for students to ride Laketran independently when deemed appropriate for that individuals needs.
