The Push Through May 24!
There is a thought that the last week of school is a throwaway. While it may relax a bit, and there may be some review, we will be pushing hard through that last Tuesday. Our last day, Wednesday, May 25, will be a fun day. But until then, we have work to do and learning to recover from our time with Covid.
Today is the time to look at Home Access Center, take a look at work, and set some goals for the last 12 days of school. This is a time when projects may not get completed or homework may not get turned in because students think the end is here. But while the end is near, the end is not here.
My expectations for behavior remain the same, too. Students need to come to school with their work completed, ready to maintain good behavior and work in class. Some of our students may not be allowed to partake in our last day activities if they choose not to follow our expectations. Encourage your child to make good choices through the end of the year.
With your support I know we can have a focused and successful end of the year.
Enjoy your weekend!
Tim
Reminders from the Health Office
Medication Pickup Reminder
Please do not forget to pick up all medications by the last day of school! Those medicines not picked up by an adult by May 25th will need to be disposed. The only medications that can be given to a student to transport home are those that are allowed to be self carried (Epi Pens, Pancreatic Enzymes, or inhalers). If there is a self-carry form on file for one of those medications, please remind your student to stop in and pick up medication before leaving on the last day. All medication orders must be renewed each school year. Forms are available on the district website under “Parents”, then “forms” or by contacting the health office.
Appointments for the required 6th grade and 9th-grade physicals tend to fill up quickly and should be scheduled now! Please submit the completed physicals to the respective schools as they are done. They are required to be submitted for review prior to the first day.
The health office is closed during the summer months. We will return for limited hours beginning in early August. Please contact me if there are new medical concerns for your child or if your child will need a health plan at school.
School Physicals for the 2022-2023 School Year
The Illinois school code requires that students entering an Illinois school for the first time, and all sixth and ninth grades, must submit evidence of a physical examination and a complete record of immunizations prior to starting classes or receiving services. Physical Exams and Vaccine Records are required for students prior to August 10, 2022 (the first day of school for the 22/23 year). Make your appointments today as these appointments fill up quickly! Please contact your school nurse prior to May 25, 2022, if you need a copy of your child's immunizations.
Have a safe and healthy summer!
8th Grade End-of-Year Celebrations
We are working with our PTO to plan our 8th-grade end-of-year celebrations. We have three fun events planned!
On Tuesday, May 24th we will host an 8th-grade Dance and Social in the early evening. We will need a large number of volunteers to make this dance successful, so look for information soon! Our theme is "Hollywood!" There will be a $10 charge for this event, though all students on free and reduced lunch will receive a complimentary ticket. More information to follow in late April
On Wednesday, May 25th in the morning, we will hold an 8th-grade awards ceremony at the Norris Cultural Arts Center. All parents are welcome, but we specifically invite those whose children will be receiving an award.
On Wednesday, May 25 our PTO will host a lunch for our 8th-grade students. Again, we will need plenty of volunteers for this event, so look for information soon.

Online Registration for Next Year
Returning Student Registration for 2022-2023 is once again an online format. All acknowledgments and authorizations are contained in a single electronic, online registration form. Please complete this by June 1st!
The form is located in the Parents/Community menu of the District website and on our Wredling website under Parents/Registration Materials. Parents can sign into the Returning Student Online Registration form using their Home Access Center (HAC) credentials, select individual students, and complete their registration.
Registration fees for all students will not be billed in PushCoin until July 1, 2022. A 2022-2023 district fee waiver application will be available on the District 303 website in July, accessible from the Parent/Community menu, for families who may qualify for a fee waiver and are not directly certified by the state.
Please contact the main office if you have any questions at (331) 228-3700
