Want to Register to Vote?

Voter Eligibility
--be a U.S. citizen
--be a resident to a county, and prior to the election you must have resided at your residential address for at least 30 days
--be 18 or 18 by the general election
--not be serving a sentence for a felony
--rescind any previous registration in another county or state
Ways You Can Register to Vote
--by mail
---- Complete and Sign the application and then send it to your county Board of Election office
--in person
----You can go and register at any of the following place: DMV, Social Services offices, Disability Agencies, Public Health offices, The Department of Mental Health Services, or The Employment Security Commission.
--by email or by fax
----You can send your application to the Board of Elections office. You must also submit your original signature in person or by mail within 20 days of the registration deadline.
North Carolina Registration Deadlines
Military, Overseas, and Out of State Registration
--They can vote using The Federal Postcard Application or The Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot. The Postcard is the preferred option while the Write-In is more of a back-up. You must physically sign it and turn it into the State Board of Elections before 5 p.m. on the day prior to the election date.
Out of State Residents
--Yo may still vote in North Carolina if it is still your permanent residence. You can register by email, mail, or fax from out of state.
