Myths
Gifted and Talented Students
Three Big Ideas
1. Just because a student is gifted and talented in one subject, does not mean that they are gifted and talented in all of them.
2. Gifted students are not necessarily looked up to by their peers.
3. Just because a student has a disability does not mean that they can not be gifted.
Two Questions
1. How can gifted students help and interact with their peers?
2. Still having questions about how you determine as a teacher is a student should be tested for gifted and talented? It does not seem like grades necessarily determine if they are gifted and talented or not.
One Action
1. Continue to work with specialist teachers to differentiate in my classroom, in order for gifted and talented students not to get bored, but to feel like they are bing challenged.
