LMS Feathers Up Monthly Newsletter
MAY 2024
News from Mr. Culbreth
Warrior Family,
I cannot believe this is the last month of the school year! May is going to be a busy month at Lakeview Middle School. Please make sure that you are reading the Warrior Echo that we send out each Monday to stay updated on the weekly events taking place at Lakeview Middle School. Progress reports will be issued to your students on May 3rd. If you have any questions or concerns about your student's grades please contact the school at 706-866-1040 or email your student's teachers.
Our cafeteria staff works hard to ensure that all students are provided two meals (breakfast and lunch) every day. They also go to great lengths to encourage parents to apply for the free and reduced food program. However, our cafeteria charges are putting a strain on our school's budget and impede additional opportunities for all students. I am asking for your help in this area. If your student owes meal charges, please be sure to have all charges paid by the end of the school year. You can reach out to Penny Kirby, our cafeteria bookkeeper, for more information. Also, if you know any local organizations who would be willing to assist with this cost, please direct them to me.
The 8th Grade Recognition will take place on May 16th in the LFO gym starting at 6:00 PM. The 8th grade will celebrate their accomplishments the following day with a party for our 8th-grade students.
Second-semester exams will take place on May 23rd and 24th. We will be sending out more details on second-semester exams as those days draw nearer.
As always, I want to encourage you to communicate with the school any time you have questions or concerns. We know that student success increases when there is a strong relationship between the school and the home. Please do not hesitate to email me at mculbreth@catoosa.k12.ga.us when you have questions and/or concerns.

A message from Superintendent Nix
In collaboration with RTI International and the Georgia Department of Education, CCPS has implemented a comprehensive plan to test all drinking water fountains and outlets where students and staff obtain water for consumption.
