Spruce Feeder Pattern PLC
Team,
Our feeder pattern principals' meeting will be held this Friday at Richard Lagow Elementary School. It will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. Principal Shelton will provide breakfast and I will provide lunch. Bring your appetite!
Let's wear our favorite college shirt to represent our expectations for our scholars. What will you wear?
In preparation for our meeting, please remember to do your homework from our previous meeting - read chapter 2 of Leverage Leadership. Also, bring your book with you to our meeting. We will take a deeper dive into the feedback process and engage in practice.
We will also do some work on D. D. I. (Data Driven Instruction) as you prepare for the end of the six weeks common assessments and data meetings.
Finally, we will conduct calibrated Spot Observations in small groups to observe strong instructional practices and sharpen our lens of the Big 4. Groups and a protocol to be followed will be provided.

Division 5 Data Meeting - Next Steps...
Our Division 5 Data Meeting served as an opportunity for good discussion around best practices in writing and served as a reminder of the need to have a writing plan. With this in mind, I would like to encourage all of us to be purposeful in leading a meeting with your respective grade levels with STAAR writing tests. Ultimately, each campus should have writing teachers with a plan of attack for student writing success. An important partner in this process would be the Campus Instructional Coach. Let's make our work reactive rather than proactive. If we wait to craft a plan, we will have to operate in a reactive manner.
A next step I took was to work with the Executive Directors and Rockell Stewart, middle school reading Academic Facilitator, to draft a monthly plan of professional development on behalf of the middle school principals. We all realize that the sooner next steps are implemented, the more likely they will have impact.

Kudos on the Court!
- Marquetta provided feedback to a teacher using the 6 step feedback protocol and did so very smoothly! Douglass Elementary had a good "Best Day Ever" based on my observation.
- Silvia's teachers shined on the "Best Day Ever" as we observed quality instruction in several classrooms. Click on the picture to the left of an Anderson teacher getting it done for kids!
