What's Going On This Week!!
I hope all of you enjoyed your Monday off! It is gearing up to be a cold week so be prepared with layers of clothes to keep warm....especially if you have duty outside! January is a time when things slow down a bit and we don't have lot of extra-curricular activities going on. Although sometimes that is a good thing so our students have more time to focus on academics, many students can get a little sluggish and unmotivated in learning.
Over the next few weeks I will be discussing thoughts and ideas on keeping our students motivated as we approach spring. I encourage you to look for ways to keep our students engaged and motivated. You have the power to help our students go the distance!
"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try." (Gail Devers).
Although this statement is true for both adults and students, all of you are aware that many students are afraid or even unmotivated to try something that is challenging. Let's all encourage our students' belief in themselves by helping them to see the power in "trying" and refusing to give up. If they know you believe in them, they are much more confident to try new things and take risks in their learning. Let's help students make those decisions to "try" so they can accomplish things they never thought possible!
Have a great week of learning!
