School Counseling
Early action and early decision college deadlines are quickly approaching. Seniors should schedule an appointment to meet with their school counselors to discuss their future plans if they have not already done so.
The school counseling department will be hosting the final College Question and Answer meeting on December 6th at 8:00 a.m. This is a great time to learn about the college application process. Please RSVP to Elizabeth Hartigan at Elizabeth.Hartigan@tyngsboroughps.org at least 48 hours in advance.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is now available to complete. This application can be found at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is the most important application in the financial aid process. All colleges and universities will require the FAFSA before determining a financial aid award. Colleges may also require students to complete a CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (profileonline.collegeboard.org) and/or a college specific financial aid application. It is important to be aware of each college's financial aid deadlines - missing deadlines could result in missing out on financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process please visit mefa.org.
FAFSA Day Massachusetts is a non-profit, volunteer driven program providing free assistance to students and families seeking to complete the FAFSA. These events will be taking place in high schools, colleges, and libraries across the Commonwealth and will provide one-on-one, step-by-step assistance for families completing the FAFSA. Please visit FAFSADay.org or email fafsaday@gmail.com for more information.

Josh Evans, TMS/THS Special Education Facilitator
(Joshua.evans@tyngsboroughps.org)
Over the past few years, Tyngsborough Public Schools has increased learning opportunities for students within a co-taught classroom. The co-taught classroom affords learners the opportunity to participate in various instructional models that allow students access to a diverse learning experience to meet their instructional needs. In the co-taught classroom, students with and without disabilities access rigorous instruction that is differentiated to specific learner need and benefit from the constant collaboration and expertise that both general education and special education teachers bring to the learning environment. This workshop seeks to help answer questions about our co-teaching practices and answer any questions families may have about the increase in this practice.
