Lamkin Lines
January 10, 2024
From The Principal
Dear Lamkin families,
Welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday break filled with joy, rest, and relaxation. We are excited for what 2024 will bring for our students. We are at the midpoint in the school year and January brings assessments for students to help teachers gauge progress towards grade level curriculum. Please ensure that your student is at school each day if they are well. Students miss out when they are absent and our goal each day is to have 95%+ average daily attendance.
During the month of January, our Capturing Kid’s Hearts focus will be Respect. The CFISD Bringing Out the Best focus will be Freedom from Prejudice.
Below are reminders and details for upcoming events.
Jackets and Coats- Our student lost and found is full of warm jackets and coats. Students are encouraged to look through and locate lost items. We will have the lost and found cart outside near the front doors from 8:30am-4:00pm on January 16-18th. The jackets that are left will be donated to a local charity. Please write your child’s name inside jackets worn to school.
Hoodies- Students are allowed to wear sweatshirts with hoods to school. However, once the student is inside the building, the hood needs to be pulled back. This is a dress code expectation and is in our student code of conduct. Students are given reminders to remove the hood, however, if the reminders become frequent or are ignored, the hoodie will be kept at school for a parent to come and pick up.
“Love you to the moon and back” PTO Sweetheart Dance- Mark your calendars- 2/2/24 from 5:30-7:30pm. This event requires tickets and payment information will go home on Friday, 1/12 from our PTO. We hope to see you there.
Lamkin students have many programs and learning tools that can be accessed from their Chromebook for home use. Please find the attached help documents to find log in information, etc. The help sheets are grade specific. We hope that you utilize these content enrichment programs.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who have supported our school in various ways. Your commitment to Lamkin has been instrumental in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our students. Thank you.
