Accountability Report
Toms River High School East has been identified as a school in need of targeted support in the sub-group of special education. Toms River East has not reached the state targets consistently for two years in a row; therefore, we are receiving support from the state in reaching those targets. The five identified targets are ELA proficiency , Math proficiency, 4 year graduation rate, 5 year graduation rate and the number of chronically absent students.
The team met to dive into data, strategize and create an action plan to support our special education students. We currently welcome 277 special education students everyday at East. We are the host of nine self-contained programs, each of which presents a unique set of needs and supports. We look forward to continuing to work with all of our students to improve academic performance and attendance

Lacrosse Event!
On May 7, 2024 the Girls and Boys Varsity Lacrosse programs from Toms River East and North are playing in a doubleheader showcase @ High School East. In collaboration with the Perrillo Family Foundation, we are using this night as a fundraiser for the Field of Dreams. Our hope is that donations and proceeds from this event will help in eliminating membership costs to over 2,100 special needs families. This will allow families who struggle with their typical day to have a place to experience events, festivals, and leagues without the worry of financial insecurities. The event is free to attend; please check out our links for more information!

Raider Excellence
The March female senior of the month is ranked in the top 10% of the students in the senior class. One of our staff members described this senior as “an exuberant spirit whose kindness and eagerness to give her very best effort is a combination of valued characteristics not often found in high school students.” Intelligent and highly motivated, this senior finds great success academically. Outside of the classroom, she serves as a Varsity Girls’ Swim Captain, an active participant in TEAM, and volunteers time at her church. With her sights set on pursuing a degree in Pharmacy after high school, there is no doubt that this senior will continue to excel and make meaningful difference in the world around her. Congratulations to the March female senior of the month, Aleksandra Osemlak.
The March male senior of the month is ranked in the top 10 students of senior class. Three words used by staff members to describe this senior are “intelligent, approachable, and conscientious”. This senior not only excels in all areas of academics but also balances it with active participation in numerous extracurricular activities. He is an accomplished varsity athlete on the Boys’ Tennis and Boys’ Swim teams, a selected member of the National Honor Society, Vice President of East Ambassadors, Representative of the Class of 2024, a Senior in Charge for TEAM, and an active member of the Spirit Club, Medical Club, Unified Sports, Club, and Interact. Additionally, this senior has logged over 100 community service hours volunteering at the Field of Dreams and Community Medical Center. Without a doubt, this senior’s outstanding character and unwavering commitment to excellence will service him well after high school as he pursues a degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacy. Congratulations to the March male senior of the month, Kodi Duong.
Congratulations to Mr. Dishon for receiving a Raider Excellence Award. Mr. Dishon volunteered his time for the Raider Helping Raiders Mentoring program. Thank you Mr. Dishon for beautifying our school!
