Huskies Making a Difference
Did you know that February is Black History and International Friendship Month? Let’s make it extraordinary! Let’s show unity in our diversity by sharing peace, love, and understanding by participating in the following activities.
Pennies for Patients
School-wide penny drive in efforts to help “make leukemia disappear”. Last year we collected over $5,000.00 in loose change. Let's do it again!
We love our Community Project
Our PTO is organizing another amazing community project in which students will make a variety of items. These items will be shared with Meals on Wheels, Kids Meals Houston, Wounded Warriors, Loaves and Fish, and the VA Hospital.
Paint the Community with Kindness Week
Metzler will join other Klein campuses as we paint the community with kindness. Be on the lookout for Metzler dress-up days and campus activities.
Houston Museum of Natural Science Field Trip
Huskies are Curious
Dinosaur Exhibit
Kindness Outreach Activity
February 12-16 is Paint the Community with Kindness Week in Klein ISD! Our outreach activity is to have every student perform 2 acts of kindness in the community under your supervision. Here you will find tickets for your child to give to the person(s) for whom they are doing a deliberate kind act. If you're on Twitter, please tweet @MetzlerKISD, @KleinISD, #promise2purpose to show the Huskies level of commitment to being kind and the impact that kindness has in and around the Metzler community.
Valentines Day
Valentine’s Day
Students will participate in a “give back” activity in lieu of a traditional Valentine’s Day party. Please know that you may send Valentine’s Day cards and goody bags with things such as stickers, pencils, spirit sticks, crayons, trinkets, or erasers. We respectfully request that you comply with our procedure of not sending candy or food items for your child to pass out to their classmates. It is very heartbreaking and difficult for students to understand why they are not allowed to pass out Valentines or goody bags with food items. We have several students with food allergies and we don't want to put students in a position of having to make a decision about whether they can eat a food item given to them by a classmate. Thanks for understanding and complying with this campus procedure.Box Tops for Education
We’ll continue to collect Box Tops for our classroom and grade-level competitions. Prizes will be awarded to the top participating classrooms! Keep saving those Box Tops and Labels for Education!!!

Attendance
Good attendance is of prime importance for the educational development of each student. A student should never be absent unless they are sick or if it is absolutely necessary.
Please be mindful to send either a doctor or parent note within five days of an absence. Please note that parental phone calls cannot take the place of these notes.Parental Responsibility- Custody
Please assist us in the handling of custody-related issues. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide the registrar a certified copy of the court order affecting any other person’s right to their children. Should you have any questions, please call 832.484.7950
School Zone
Please help us keep safety first. Do turn off your cell phone while driving in the school zone which begins on West Rayford. Teachers and students are walking about, and we need all drivers to be 100% alert for everyone’s safety. As always, please use extreme caution when entering and exiting the school zone. Modeling courtesy and compliance with school procedures help everyone start and end their day in a positive manner. Remember, our kiddos are watching and will model the character we exhibit.
