Welcome Back!
Spring 2019 Semester
As we start the spring semester, here are a few quick reminders from the Office of Residence Life:
- All residence halls are smoke free. This means cigarettes, cigars, vaporizers, e-cigarettes, and all other smoking devices. Failure to comply with this policy will result in documentation through the student conduct process. There are designated smoking areas outside.
- Quiet Hours in B,C, E, and Hunter Hall are 11pm-8am Sunday-Thursday, and 1am-8am Friday-Saturday.
- Quiet Hours in A are 8pm-8am Sunday-Thursday, and 11pm-8am Friday-Saturday.
- Courtesy Hours are 24/7. Please be aware of the noise you are creating, and if someone asks you to quiet down, please do so.
- You are responsible for taking all garbage and recycling out of your room and suite. In A-E, bring bagged trash to the large barrels located outside the quad-side door. In Hunter, bring bagged trash to the dumpster located in the parking loop.
- Please review the Prohibited Items list on page 40 of the Community Standards of Conduct. Repeated violations of this policy may result in documentation to be processed through the student conduct system.
- Housekeeping will continue to do routine cleaning in your suites. Cleaning above the norm will result in a charge added to your student account.
- If you see something, say something. Please report suspicious people, any building damages, and anything else that doesn't seem right to an RA, your RD, or to Campus Safety. Please do not let anyone you don't know into the residence halls. Damages can also be reported to facilities@svc.edu
- Keep an eye out for This Week at SVC in your inbox. It's the easiest way to stay up-to-date on campus events and important dates.
It is Cold & Flu Season!
Flu season is in full force. Please keep the following in mind during this season:
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your nose and mouth.
- Cover your mouth with a tissue or your sleeve when you sneeze or cough.
- Stay out of class if you have a fever or other flu-like symptoms.
- Contact Nurse Deb Berg if you are ill at dberg@svc.edu.
