A Message From Walled Lake Schools
As you know by now, Governor Whitmer has suspended in-person K-12 instruction (Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order) for the remainder of the school year.
Although our children will not be going back to our school buildings, we remain committed to ensuring that our students continue to receive an education. Likewise, we remain committed to ensuring that our high school seniors graduate and are appropriately honored.
Undoubtedly, there remain many unanswered questions. We do not have all of the answers yet; however, we will be working and planning to get you answers in the near future, after Spring Break, April 6-10.
Here is what we do know:
We are committed to providing the best support possible for our students, academically, socially and emotionally, albeit virtually.
We will continue to provide virtual instruction. Although the vast majority of our students are online participating in virtual classrooms, we will continue to reach out to families who have not yet engaged in these opportunities.
We are positioned to push the envelope creatively and reach out to our students and families to celebrate student achievements in new ways. We want to create memories and provide unique opportunities for students to celebrate the relationships they treasure, and their many accomplishments.
We are examining safe options for high school graduation, although no specific plans have been made yet. Further, individual middle school and elementary school communities will also collaborate to acknowledge and celebrate student accomplishments.
Virtual Learning Will Continue After Spring Break
