Principal's Message
Hello, PHS parents! Can you believe it is already October 2020? We have had a wonderful start to this school year with both face to face and distance learning instruction. We have incredible students at PHS and the new safety protocols on campus and requirements for distance learners at home have really shined a light on their awesomeness! At the first three week progress report we see more than 70% of our distance learners being very successful with online learning. At campus, our students have done an excellent job of wearing their masks, social distancing, and helping with the campus cleaning protocols. So many schools across the country are having difficulty with students observing the health and safety protocols, but not PHS because we have the BEST high school students around. Thank you, parents, for supporting your student(s) and our school. Please check out the important reminders about changes to campus procedures in light of COVID-19.
As we continue this school year, we anticipate changes to student schedules as students switch their mode of instruction. Please be patient with our counselors as they change student schedules while also ensuring our class sizes stay balanced.
Upcoming Events:
- Friday, October 16--End of 1st Six Weeks
- Saturday, October 17--PISD Education Foundation Donation Drive, PHS Time TBD
- Monday, October 19--Student Holiday/Teacher Workday
- Monday, November 9--Seniors & Parents FAFSA Night (tentative)
Lastly, please take 2-3 minutes to complete our parent/guardian survey. Your feedback is important to us and we'd really like to reach our goal of 100 parent surveys.
