Principal Bodnar's Weekly Notes
Week Ending 3/8/2024
This Week At St. Ann
This week has been again, a week of academics for our students at St. Ann. Today we finish up the 3rd quarter and Monday will start the 4th and final quarter of this school year.
While we are working hard on our academics, we are also working hard to prepare for the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In preparing for Easter, students are attending weekly stations and will receive reconciliation on March 19th. In addition to that, our 2nd grade receive their first Sacrament of Reconciliation on Feb. 27th. Those students will receive 1st Communion at their respective church's after Easter. We have also obtained the Hallow app which your students will be learning more about in the coming weeks. Mrs. Gaubatz is working on setting up accounts for our students that they will be able to share the content with you. The hope is that this will be another avenue to include our faith into daily life and be able to do this not only at school, but at home with their families if you choose to. Please go to Hallow.com for more information on the Hallow site.
Preschool Open House
Although St. Ann Catholic School will close at the end of this school year, the Preschool program will remain open. On March 19th, from 4-6pm, Mrs. Jackie Friend will be hosting an open house and registration for the 2024-25 school year. Cost for Preschool next year will be $3200 for 5 days a week and $2550 for 3 days a week for the school year, and $2.00 per hot lunch. The first day of Preschool will be August 12th, 2024. Hours will be 8am till 3pm and the After School Program will be available from 3pm till 5pm for an additional fee.
Knights Fish Fry Friday's
The St. Ann Knights of Columbus will continue serving their tasty fish fry on Friday's. They will serve from 430-7pm. You can dine in or carry out and the cost is $13 per person. Next Friday, March 15th, the Knights have graciously agreed to cook fish and fries for all of our students and staff.
Pizza Party
Thanks to Mr. Rick Harris and the CYM, he has donated a pizza party to the school for all the effort that was put into the food drive before Christmas for the CYM. On Wednesday, March 13th, we will have the pizza party. Everyone will get pizza and that there is no cost for lunch that day. We will also provide drinks for all. Thank you to Mr. Harris and the CYM for giving our students this opportunity.
Scrip
Since we will be working at closing down St. Ann over the next several months, we will not be ordering any Scrip. We have a ton of scrip on hand if you are interested in any, and you can still order it yourself on line.
Scrip is an easy way for families to make money for St. Ann and help pay your tuition. You may ask, "What is Scrip?", well scrip is basically gift cards for local and name brand stores and restaurants that you go to everyday. Instead of paying with cash or credit card, you purchase the gift cards from St. Ann and use these gift cards to pay for your purchase. This fundraiser costs nothing to you other than a few minutes of your time ordering, sending in the money, and picking up your gift cards. We carry a full line of local and most big box stores including Amazon here at school or you can go to raiseright.com and enter the St. Ann school code of 74D1Cl931431. Once logged in to the school account, you can order straight from the website and it will ship to us for pickup. Again, it's an easy and fast fundraiser for the school that takes no effort or cost for anything else to you, and 1/2 of the rebate we get for you buying the Scrip, goes to pay your tuition balance
Mr. Bodnar's Thoughts
Hello St. Ann Family,
With Easter only 3 weeks away let us all remember the experiences of our God in our own daily lives. Even in his last days, Jesus still did what was right even though he knew doing so would lead him to his death.
As we work on finishing out the rest of this school we at St. Ann are doing everything that we can to follow in Jesus foot steps. We do understand it may not be popular at times, but we are doing what is right.
Our students are our number priority right now, just as at any other time in our history. We are providing the best education and experiences that we can. We are all working hard so they don't need to think about what is in their future after this summer. We appreciate and thank everyone of you for your support. I hope that as the days draw to a close, we can continue to remember that Jesus is the reason for our school and he has a plan for all of us, even if we can't see it right now, we must continue to believe that he does.
As we finalize the different plans for the remainder of the school year, I will post those details here.
I hope everyone has a safe and great weekend, hopefully the rain will not wash out the entire weekend. I look for ward to seeing everyone on Monday.
Tony Bodnar
