Valentines
When addressing valentines, please have your child reference the class list that I sent with our newsletter to be sure names are spelled right and that no one is left out.
I also want to remind you that we are a nut-free classroom. If your child's valentines have treats attached to them, be sure they do not contain nuts.
Also, due to severe allergies in our school, we have been told that there may not be any homemade items.
Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!

25/100 Book Challenge
Our class is happily working on their book challenges! I love that students are so interested in beginning to explore different genres.
We have a graph in our classroom (which you can see below) to track everyone's progress.
Please be sure to keep this reading log in your child's binder so we can see when to move his/her book icon up. Also, remember that this book challenge is for the 15-16 school year. You can count any book (over 100 pages for the 25 Book Challenge) that they have read this school year.
Thanks so much for your support!

Winter Reminders
Please be sure to check the forecast each day to determine what type of coat to send with your child. We go to recess at 9:30 in the morning as long as the windchill is at or above 38 degrees. Often times the temperature at that time can be very different than the high for the day.
Please send your child with a coat with his/her name in it. We'd rather get lost coats back to the owners instead of taking them to the lost and found!

If you'd like to purchase items for our classroom, you can check out our Amazon Wishlist. After talking with students, I've added books they'd like to see in our classroom library as well as other items I know we will need throughout the year.
