SAMUEL V. CHAMPION HIGH SCHOOL
Campus Update - Volume 29 - March 25, 2024
Dear Charger Families,
It was a busy weekend and start to the week! Congratulations to Champion Theater for winning their fifth straight district One Act Play title with their performance of Hunchback of Notre Dame on Saturday. They are well on their way to another regional and state appearance. On Saturday, the Boerne Education Foundation hosted their annual Rock On event. Champion’s very own, Mr. Robert Kolar, was selected as District Teacher of the Year. We greatly appreciate Mr. Kolar and all he does for CHS!
Best of luck to our boys and girls soccer teams who both compete in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Boys play in Leander and girls at Dripping Springs. Golf is also competing in the district tournament and we look forward to sharing the results soon.
Be sure to check out the article below on our incredible Champion Welding program. Their partnership with the city continues and they recently completed fish structures for the renovated river road project. Way to go Ag Mech!
Congratulations to seniors Adriana Barreiro and to Charlie Georgelos for representing Champion at San Antonio Area All Star Basketball Games this weekend. They were selected as one of the top seniors in our area and competed one final time.
So many more updates below including some great weekend successes with baseball, track, Debate (way to go!) and Charms (wow!).
Our We Are Champion Attendance Challenge for the last 9 weeks is going very well with multiple classes already earning prizes for their commitment to being in school. The more each class records 100% attendance, the more opportunity for prizes including Mary's Tacos, Root Beer Floats, and a trip to Andretti. We are doing this to reinforce the importance of you being here the last 9 weeks of school. With EOC, AP Testing, Credits needing to be earned, final exam prep and reviews, every single day matters!

Evan Kuhl was 2 for 3 and Quinn Grable was 2 for 2 to lead the offense,
On Friday, we played Vets again at home, and came away with a 12-0 win. Matthew Booth dominated the game on the mound as he threw a No-Hitter. Jordan Ballin was 1 for 1 with 3 walks and Owen Kuhl was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI's. We Play Canyon on Tuesday and Thursday leading into Easter weekend. Tuesday, we play at home, and we would love to have the stands packed for an exciting district ballgame. This is a fun group to watch, and it is Youth night at the ballpark so it would be a great family night at the game.
