Happy October MTE Community!
This past Wednesday we had our first packet pick-up. Many families came by and got supplies for their students to use at home while doing school work. We will be adding library check-out to our pick-up. Meaning, your student can put a book on hold, Mr. Winkeljohn will check it out to them and it will be waiting with their supplies on the pick-up Monday.
Yes, you read that right, packet pick-up will now be on MONDAYS. In an effort to better support families and align district wide times for library check out and packet pick-ups, there are now district wide dates.
The dates are as follows:
10/12
10/26
11/9
11/30
12/14
1/11
1/25
2/8
2/22
3/8
3/22
4/12
4/26
5/10
5/24
(Scheduled through May just in case we continue with remote learning that long.)
ECEAP preschool packets are on a different schedule. Please watch preschool communications for this information.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR PACKET PICK-UP
- Pick-up will last all day from 10:30 am-3:30 pm. Families will come by and get packets at the drive through loop.
- Remaining packets will be left out the rest of the week (during school hours) for families to come collect on their own time.
- If families can not make it on Monday, teachers can also coordinate pick up.
- Packet pick up is available for Teacher use if classroom items need to be distributed.
-Families will place signs in their windows that say the first and last name of the student, as well as the teacher name. This will help staff know who is there to pick up, it can be very hard to hear through masks. These signs will be passed out at the first Monday Packet Pick-up, October 12th. Please save and reuse them for each time you come to pick items up from school. Also, if you have multiple children, you will receive multiple signs. Have them all out on the dash so that we can get packets for all your children.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR LIBRARY CHECK IN/OUT
- Students have been reserving books online (they are learning that during library time) and will continue to do so to check out.
- Mr. Winkeljohn is making a guide for primary parents to help them navigate the hold and renewal systems for books. Please watch upcoming newsletters for this information.
- Books will be organized by classroom, with student names on them for ease of pick-up.
- If a student wants to renew, they have been taught how to do this and may do so.
- The turn in box will be out every school day between 9 am and 4 pm. Books may be returned then or during packet pick-up times.
Yours in learning,
Mary Williams

Hello families and students that will be doing MOVE 60 this session.
I am so excited that we get to do this!!!! I love MOVE 60.
I am Mr. McCarthy and I have been doing MOVE 60 for many years.
This year will be a bit different and we are going to make it great. I will be meeting with all students every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:15. During this time we will be playing games, doing activities, and talking about why physical activity is important and brings great joy to our lives. I have included the ZOOM LINK and the District website, which will be very helpful.

Move 60 fall session starts on Monday, October 5th with "Moving Mondays" with Nick! All of the fitness sessions can be found on the Move 60 Activity Calendar here:
https://www.edmonds.wednet.edu/programs/move_60_/move_60__calendar
Each day there will be new videos for students to do with a variety of exercises (sports, yoga, dance, and fitness challenges). All of these opportunities are optional and students can go onto these calendar invites and do the videos at any time. If the suggested time on the Activity Calendar doesn't work for you, do it when it works best. Meet the Move 60 Fitness Instructors here:
STUDENT AND PARENT SURVEYS
Part of our data keeping information will be done by doing Surveys. Below you will find how to access these surveys. We will talk about this when we have our MOVE 60 ZOOM on Wednesday.
Student surveys can be found on Welnet. How do I get to Welnet? Good question! Students need to log into Clever where they will find the Welnet button. Welnet will log them in automatically. This student survey is most appropriate for students in grades 3-6. If you are in grades 3-6, please encourage your student to complete the Move 60 survey! Thank you for your help.
Parent surveys can be found on your student's Welnet account. After your student has completed the student survey, parents can complete the parent survey. All of these surveys will be on your student's Welnet page (student survey and parent survey). All of these are important data points for the Move 60 grant. We appreciate your time taking the 3-5 minute survey. Thank you!
Questions about Move 60, go to these links below:
Become an Observer for your student's Canvas courses (Grades 3-12)
As an observer you will be linked to your student(s) Canvas courses as they progress through Edmonds School District. Families need to link their observer account to their student(s) ONE TIME to follow their student from 3rd to 12th grade. Each time your student is enrolled in new courses (at the start of each semester), these courses will also be displayed on your Canvas Dashboard
The observer role is different from the student role. Observers can view course data but cannot participate in all Canvas areas. Observers cannot submit work on behalf of the students they observe, but they can see student grades, assignments and events, and course interactions. Observers cannot view a course until it is published by the teacher and the course has started. Observers will also not be able to view a course after the course end date.
