WHAT'S UP AT WMS?
FEELING ARTSY
Students in Mr. Davidson’s art class marked the end of the second term with a day of choice activities. Here, students are seen painting with watercolors while others finish their ‘zines!
FREE CHOICE GYM
Mr. Johnson and Ms. Kelly's gym classes had free choice day on the last day of the second term! Students were able to choose from the games they've been practicing lately- cornhole, badminton, and volleyball!
SPECIAL GUEST
Our School Resource Officer, Ms. Anna Margaryan, met with our 7th graders in Ms. Lewis' health class to discuss the topics they learned about this term.
CONGRATULATIONS!
A huge congratulations to 8th grader Nathan Hardy for participating in the MMEA Eastern District Junior Chorus last week! Students spent ALL day Friday (9:30-5:30) and much of Saturday working with Lexington High School's choral director, Sarah Labrie, on a concert program that they then performed on Saturday afternoon. The junior chorus was made up of about 80 students from 7-9th grade who attend schools in the eastern part of the state and we had 3 students representing WPS!
Shout out to Nathan for representing the WMS community well :)
ANNOUNCEMENTS
DANCE!
Our winter dance is this Friday, March 22nd, 6 to 8pm. Permission slips were distributed to students in their advisory block last week and can also be found here. Students will be able to purchase tickets for $5 before and after school in the main lobby until Friday. Students must turn in their completed permission form when buying a ticket.
FAMILY-TEACHER CONFERENCES
The remaining spring conferences will be held tomorrow, March 19. Afternoon conferences take place after early dismissal, from 12:15 - 2:15, and evening conferences are available from 5:00 - 7:00. Families have the option of meeting in-person or virtually. If you have questions about your time slot, please reach out to your student's advisor.
ATTENDANCE BATTLE!
We are thrilled to introduce an exciting new initiative aimed at encouraging consistent attendance and participation among our students! Starting this week, we are launching our Attendance Incentive Program, designed to reward those who consistently attend school on time and actively engage in their learning journey.
Here's how it works: Each Monday, we will hold a special raffle drawing, with one lucky winner with perfect attendance from the week prior selected from each grade level—6th, 7th, and 8th grade. These winners will have the chance to win a delightful gift card to Dunkin’ or Starbucks, a perfect treat for a well-deserved break or a delicious snack!
Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success, and we believe that acknowledging and celebrating this commitment is essential. By participating in our Attendance Incentive Program, students not only have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes but also cultivate habits that will serve them well in their academic and personal lives. Look for an announcement of more incentives to come…
Thank you for your continued support in promoting a culture of attendance and engagement at our school. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
