Sunday Message
Week of September 12, 2022
Message from Mrs. Reams
Randolph Families,
Thank you for another great week. In collaboration with our bus drivers, we have been working hard to ensure a safe ride to and from school each day. Each week we are highlighting a bus that is demonstrating their FORWARD core values. We have a "Bus of the Week," board near the gym. The students add a house point when they receive this recognition. I won't report this out every week in the Sunday message, but I wanted to share.
Our "Bus of the Week" riders are as follows:
WK 1 - Bus #81 Ms. Collins
WK 2 - Bus #98 Ms. Fleming
WK 3 - Bus #72 Mr. Powers

Practices will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-3:45pm prior to our final 5k (about 10 weeks). Please see the green flyer in your student's green folder for more information. You can also access the flyer below. Click the link to Register. Spots are limited; first come, first served! Sign ups are due by next Wednesday, the 14th. Reach out to 5th Grade Teacher, Laura Patrick, at lpatrick@glnd.k12.va.us with any questions.
- Every child in the school was given two car tags. At this point, everyone who requested extra car tags should have them. Please keep them in a safe place if you are not currently a car rider, to be used as needed. Should you need tags at any point moving forward, please email roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us - thank you!
Remember the cafeteria is no longer taking cash. Please go to MyPaymentsPlus to add money to your student’s lunch account if needed.

County Wide News
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Did you know that absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year? Half of the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school, making themselves chronically absent. Please have your students attend school unless they are sick, and if they are absent, communicate this with the front office at roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us.
A Fire-Rescue Show is planned for Saturday evening, October 8th, starting at 6 p.m. at Goochland High School in the back parking lot. We are planning an evening of fire and EMS demonstrations for our citizens and children, also the kicking off of Fire Prevention Week. A small fireworks show is planned for the end of the evening. This is a great opportunity to promote community risk reduction, while showcasing the department. Please consider coming out and spending an evening with your local Firefighters and EMS providers.
