We would like to hear from you to help us with continuous improvement.
Lots of information - tips to help
We know there are a lot of communications and most are coming at you via email.
While it is easy to get overwhelmed, vital information is sent out to help support you.
Please be sure to read email each day.
We can each do our best to keep email communication specifically used for vital communications. I will try to only send everyone the newsletter as much as possible.
Yet still, we may have that overwhelmed feeling when we look at our inbox.
Here are some tips to help so you can still find the vital messages:
- Set aside time daily to look at your emails.
- Process your messages . When reading your messages, decide whether to:
- Delete it.
- Do it (respond or file for reference).
- Defer it (using categories and flags) for a second review in your task list.
- Reduce your to-do list to one list. Use a single to-do list and a single calendar to manage what you need to do.
- Work in batches. Think about categories the emails fall in to to help organize your time spent on the emails.
- Use good judgment when sending messages. Follow the do’s and don’ts of writing great messages.
- Review your calendar and tasks regularly.
Even if you don't use all of the best practices described here, following only a few will help.

Student ID Pictures - this week
We know it was a last minute announcement and we apologize for doing that. We pride ourselves on trying to communicate ahead of time and trying to do what is best for our students and families.
Unfortunately, there were not other times available for the company and they are the ones able to produce our ID's. We were notified last minute of the dates as well.
The site is currently working on other ideas for the yearbook picture knowing that not all students will make an appointment this week.
Seniors still MUST meet the deadline for the Prestige picture for the yearbook. That is separate from these ID pictures.
We apologize for the inconvenience and timing but hope that those who desire to have their ID picture are able to visit us this week. An Appointment must be scheduled ahead of time - all details are in Synergy email (StudentVUE/ParentVUE)

GRADUATION 2021
Graduation is approaching and we want you all to cross that finish line!
So don't forget that the graduation requirements in order to participate and earn a diploma have not changed. Contact your counselor if you are in danger of any one of these so they can help you figure out your options:
- Earn 220 credits
- Pass all required subjects
- Pass the technology and speech proficiencies
- Pass 10 credits of math in senior year
- pass 35/40 credits in terms 3 and 4 of senior year
*Attendance matters to completing these requirements
AND, senior speech will be able to be met in Advocacy during their Senior Presentations later this year if not already met.
Parents/Guardians with educational rights can check on student progress in ParentVUE. If you need assistance with ParentVUE, please contact the front office at 916-688-0050 during work hours.
Graduation updates - Senior STUDENT emails needed NOW please
Check out Mr. Craig Grivel's email for more specifics but here is a brief update from the email sent:
Graduation:
- currently planning for three distinct graduation options - we do not have a clear picture of what will and won’t be allowed at the end of the year
- We are moving forward to produce a fully virtual ceremony.
- A ceremony at Golden 1 is still in the planning stages, if that were to be allowed.
- We are also making plans for a possible ceremony outside, that would allow students to physically distance and walk across the stage.
Cap and gown info
Students will need a cap and gown to participate in any of the above scenarios.
- prices for the cap, gown, and tassel package go up after January
- The direct link to the basic package is:
- You may also order a loaner at the same link (Click on Borrow Cap and Gown). Loaners, including the tassel, will need to be returned before you pick up your diploma.
- All cap and gowns are scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday, March 3 between 2:00 and 4:00pm (most likely be a drive through distribution - More information will be coming)
- If you have specific questions regarding your cap and gown, please contact our Jostens vendor, Pat Cummings, at pat.cummings@jostens.com
Senior STUDENT emails needed
An important step in preparing for the virtual ceremony is the collection of each student’s personal email address. This will be needed for students to register, and communicate, with the company that will collect photos and other necessary information, such as name pronunciation, for the ceremony.
- Parents must log in to ParentVUE,, select “Student Info” and click the button labeled “Edit Information.” In the field for “Student’s Email,” enter the student email address. Remember to click “Save Changes” after entering the email address. The email needs to be an accurate, working address that the student checks frequently. If you have more than one senior, each student must have a unique email address. The file below is an example of what the screen should look like to enter the address.
We love our MUSTANGS and we want to see you all graduate! You have worked so hard so let's finish strong and get that diploma! Reach out to counselors, teachers or admin if you need help and let's do this!
