International Non Violence Day
"In a gentle way, you can shake the world." Mahatma Gandhi
Participate!
Mahatma Gandhi cared about others! Without him, the world would be completely different. Gandhi was born on October 2nd, which is the day we should remember him and thank him for changing the world.
To honor him, people all over the world should perform acts of kindness and participate in something Gandhi would be proud to see happening. Gandhi would be most proud if people around the world followed in his footsteps by nonviolently demonstrating for world peace. If people all over the world chose to walk in the streets with peace signs and other things to promote nonviolence, Ghandi’s place in history would be honored. Also, the world would be a better place as people would see that violence is wrong and that the world is finally against it.
Let's make October 2nd not only a celebration of Gandhi’s life, but also a day where the world says no to violence and yes to peace. We can all march in the streets and show the world how many millions of people agree with Gandhi’s nonviolent approach. At our school, we can start this chain reaction! When we do this, we’ll make a difference not just in our own lives, but across the globe!
