NBHS ALL IN...LEADING LIFELONG LEARNERS
Week of 9/24-9/28
It is hard to believe that October is already here and the first quarter is halfway over. As the fall season draws near and sickness starts that upward trend, please be sure your students are washing their hands, eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep, and drinking the appropriate amount of water. This will certainly be a preventative measure.
The teachers had a professional development day (PD day) on Monday. During the PD day the teachers learned about the impact of Dyslexia and strategies they can use not only with students that might have Dyslexia but, with any student to help support them in reading, writing, and math.
The high school students are going through the first days of character building (team building). The character committee did an excellent job of providing the students with some challenging team building activities and did a great job of debriefing with the students afterwards. It is awesome seeing the students actively engaged with their peers in a way that forces them to get out of their confront zone to meet and work with others they might not always hang out with.
Some of you might be curious to when we will have last years MAP and EOC scores. Typically we get these sometime between September and October. It does not appear that we will get these until sometime between October and December. Once we get these in we will certainly get the data out to you in an appropriate and timely manner.
If you have any questions or ways to continue to improve NBHS please let us know via email or phone call.
