A little bit about Earth...
We, Earth people, have seven big land masses. We like to call: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. There is an imaginary line across our planet, this line is called the equator. The closer you get to the equator the hotter it gets; the farther away you get from the equator the colder it gets. Some ways we regionalize the Earth are: time zones, countries, and continents. Some very interesting features of our Earth are Mt. Everest, The Pacific Ocean and The Sahara Desert.
The Seven Big Land Masses:
The continents are important because, you need to know different cultures, religion and how to act visiting these places.
Countries:
Countries important so you know what country you are traveling to. This is mega important because if you go to Iran you can get killed by just crossing the boarder.
Time Zones:
Time zones are important because if you are traveling from Michigan to Texas the time changes about 1hr, this is not the case all the time though.
The great mountain itself:
Mount Everest is located in between the boarder of Tibet and Nepal. This mountain is so amazing because it is one of the most beautiful and biggest mountains in the world.
Challenges:
Mt. Everest is a great mountain but it does have some challenges like if you plan to climb it you may experience severe altitude sickness. Another thing is it's a bit obvious but you stand a high risk of falling. Earth quakes are very common on Mt. Everest and then there are avalanches that end up killing people sometimes. Each year people end up dying, about 142 people have died trying to climb Mt. Everest.
Opportunities:
If you do plan to climb it the best time to do it is in May. Also Mt. Everest is a GREAT tourist site. This mountain is an amazing site you should really consider visiting it you don't want to climb it just visit. See the image shows people enjoying the beautiful mountain and they aren't even climbing it.
Places to visit:
You should really consider visiting a small town called Kathmandu. Kathmandu is a peaceful town there is old temples and shrines you can visit.
Travel Tips:
I recommend visiting the Shigatse valley. From a cluster of towns you can see Mt. Everest and again you don't need to even climb it. You can also experience ancient ruins and natural hot springs. You should bring dry food if you plan to climb Mt. Everest such as- Peanut Butter candy bars, crackers, salami and cheese.
Packing:
Mt. Everest is located between the boarder of Tibet and Nepal. If you go to Nepal you will need to pack: breathable clothes it can get VERY hot, make sure you have closed toed shoes, shorts, t-shirts, anything you would wear when it's warm/hot. The best time to visit Nepal is October- November or February- April. If you are going to visit Tibet you will need to pack: warm clothes it is cool in the summer and excruciatingly cold in the winter, the best time to visit is February-April.
The Pacific Ocean:
The Pacific Ocean is huge and beautiful. Some places the Pacific is located in is Hawaii and Australia.
Opportunities:
Sailing is a great activity to do in the ocean. The Life Aboard Sailing and Training is a great class to take. Fishing is a great thing to do because you can catch net fulls of tuna.
Challenges:
People are over fishing which is practically draining the life source out of the ocean. Typhoons are a major problem of the ocean.
Places to visit:
Hawaii is a great place to visit because it has a great view of the Pacific Ocean you can take a nice swim in the ocean or you can enjoy the beautiful scenery or the fascinating lava flows. Australia is another place to visit because it has glamorous beaches and you can take a nice swim in the ocean.
Travel Tips:
It can get very warm at both of these places so make sure you pack cool and loose fitting clothes.
Packing List:
If you plan to visit Australia you will need to pack: a rain jacket, warm jacket, shorts/skirts, t-shirts/blouses, bug spray, sun glasses, sunscreen, and swimsuit. If you plan to go to Hawaii you will need to pack: a hat, sun glasses, sunscreen, aloe Vera gel, shorts/skirts, t-shirts/blouses, water shoes, and swimsuit.
The Sahara Desert
This desert is one of the hottest and biggest deserts. The Nile River and the Red Sea is located in the Sahara Desert.
Challenges:
Only a population of 200,000 people because of the little rain fall. There are many harmful insects such as The Desert Locus which harms peoples homes and food.
Opportunities:
See ancient ruins of a Moque that still stands. You can see exotic wild life such as Hyenas or Barbary Sheep.
Places to visit:
Some cool places to visit are sand dunes or a neat body of water to visit is The Nile River.
Travel Tips:
OK this is a bit obvious but man it's really hot here so make sure you pack cool clothes. Make sure you pack plenty of food because it can be very hard to get food in the Sahara.
