Storybook Pumpkin Characters
are coming to the Keith Library! October 3rd- 20th
Pumpkin Patch!!
The Keith Library is hosting a pumpkin party from
Tuesday, Oct.3rd- 20th.You may drop off your pumpkin during the day or during family night at the Book Fair.
Choose your pumpkin carefully, you will be transforming it into a character from a library book! You could pick out the perfect real pumpkin or a fake pumpkin made of styrofoam. Be creative, use fabric, paper, paint, markers, and other craft supplies to make your pumpkin stand out in the crowd. You might use green paint to make Froggy from the picture book series. You might use black and white paint to make Nick Bruel’s Bad Kitty, or blue paint to make Pete the Cat. Use your imagination. We are looking for pumpkins that are created, not carved or punctured. The pumpkin characters will be on display around the library. (double stick tape works well for pumpkin repairs) Everyone who enters is a WINNER!
PUMPKIN RULES
- Only one pumpkin per Keith family. (mom and dad CAN help)
- Only book characters will be accepted. (which book character will you choose?)
- NO CARVING or PUNCTURING ALLOWED. (Carved pumpkins make a big mess and a stinky library)
- Each pumpkin entry must be accompanied by an entry card- Click the google doc. above or check your child's Friday folder.
- Do not send books with pumpkins, books will not be displayed.
PUMPKIN DATES- drop off and pick up procedures
- Tuesday, Oct. 3rd bring pumpkin characters to school. Students carrying their own pumpkins may bring the pumpkin to the library all day. Parents bringing pumpkins for their child can drop them off on a cart at the front office, or drop them off during bookfair family night.
- Friday, Oct. 20 students will take all pumpkins home on this day. All pumpkins left in the library after October 20th will be recycled before 5 p.m., to avoid a stinky messy library.
