Tiger Talk

An exciting first day of school
It was a great pleasure to meet our 2022-23 Tigers today and to have an opportunity to become acquainted with our Tiger families at my Principal's Coffee this morning. Our 2022-23 Tigers had a splendid first day of school.
Congratulations, Tigers! Well done!
I realize that our car rider line this afternoon was a little slow, but as our staff members and students become more familiar and comfortable with our procedures, the line will be zipping through much more efficiently. I appreciate your patience while our new Tigers are learning the dismissal routines. Please make sure you have updated your student's dismissal in the SMART Tag as this is what we will be going by. Our walkers will be dismissed each day at 3:00 pm, today I led the walker group and we left the building 5 minutes early because it was the first day of school. Our walkers will be leaving out the walker door each day at 3:00 pm. If they are unescorted they will follow me to the crosswalk at Sabino Drive & Cypress Ranch Blvd to cross safely.
Have a great evening, Tigers! I look forward to seeing your bright faces again in the morning.
With warmest regards,
Amy Russ, Principal
Lake Travis ISD Cell Phone and Personal Mobile Device Campus Expectations
LTISD Elementary Campus Expectations:
It is our strong recommendation to leave cell phones and personal mobile devices, including smart watches, at home. LTISD cannot guarantee protection or security of personal electronic devices that are brought to school.
Cell phones should be turned off and kept in the student’s backpack/cubby.
Smart watches, FitBits, or similar devices must be on silent and kept in the student’s backpack/cubby; devices should NOT be worn on the body or kept on the person.
Students are not allowed to use personal devices in class for any reason. Instructional needs for classroom activities can be met with LTISD Chromebooks.
Students are not allowed to call or text during school hours. This includes lunch time, restroom breaks, etc.
Parents should understand that the teacher or other LTISD personnel may collect the phone or personal mobile device at any time to prevent disruption of the learning environment. –LTISD SCC
Recordings during school hours, including recording from remote locations, is strictly prohibited.

Repeated violations may result in additional disciplinary action as follows:

Water-Bottles & Other Personal Items
Water fountains will be re-opened for this school year. However, we continue to encourage you to send your child with a personal water bottle. We have a total of eight water bottle filling stations on campus. Please send your child with a refillable water bottle, labeled with first and last name to ensure our students stay refreshed and hydrated. These bottles will be sent home daily to be cleaned and sanitized at home.
Attendance and Tardies
As we start the school year, it is imperative that you are aware of the LTISD attendance and tardy policies. Please be aware that our assistant principal, Mrs. Hatfield, will be monitoring student attendance and will be in contact with families on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions regarding these policies, please contact our Registrar, Becky Wright.
