Support in the Classroom
First of all, I want to thank ALL of the families in our classroom for a wonderful year so far! We have never gone without snack or any other materials we needed. Thank you so much for your continued support of our awesome class!
Many of you have been asking about how you can further support our classroom by volunteering your time. I've created a sign-up sheet of volunteer tasks and times to come in. Making copies for the week and sorting papers into mailboxes are tasks that take up a lot of my time before and after school. Having a volunteer do this allows me to devote more of my time to planning instruction. I also included a sign-up to be a "mystery reader" on Fridays--the students love to be read to, and listening to other people read is an important activity for developing literacy. You can sign up to do any of these tasks by adding your name to the Google sheet.

Peek at the Week
Math: In math this week, we will wrap up our unit on comparing fractions and begin adding and subtracting fractions.
Language Arts: We will review our responsibilities in Daily Five this week, and we will working on determining the main idea of a nonfiction text.
Social Studies: We are continuing our unit on economics in North Carolina.
