March Words From the President - Nancy Conner
It has been a very busy March. Tipton Lakes Spring Open was a success with many of our members winning medals. A big thank you to the huge number of hours put into the planning and the many members who volunteered. We also had a successful beginner’s clinic with many joining CPC and ready to play. We had 23 players at Newbie day and fun was had by all. Once again, it was the volunteers who made this successful! Thank you. The Dinking Round Robin demonstrated some of our bangers can dink and lots of patience was seen on the courts. We learned a lot about our members with some of Nancy sillies between rounds. If you want to know who is obsessed with the stock market, talk to Natalie O. We also have several who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next year. Congrats! Bonnie R was the only one with more than three children. She has 4.
Courts update:
Dunn is definitely a go, but still making some decisions before beginning construction.
Nexus is open and we have been told that the nets that separate the courts will relax and come down to the floor. Please be patient.
Donner is open for play.
Ceraland is hopping!
Finally, with the exception of Greg Willmore, no one has volunteered to be on the beginner’s clinic committee. Therefore, stay tuned for another idea of how to approach this issue that will be posted in April. Thank you ahead of time for those who volunteer and thank you Greg!

The Early Birds get the open courts
The Early Bird group had their outdoor debut at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4th. A great group braving the cold included CPC members Nobu S, Natalie O, Joyce O, and Ann R.
Ribbon cutting at Nexus Park - March 6th
CPC was represented well at the opening ceremony at Nexus Park. Players competed in games on three courts. The reflection of the lights and various lines were a bit troublesome, but it was inside, dry, no wind, and with the high roof you can lob as high as you want!
Beginner Clinic - FFY - March 19th and 22nd
There was a big group at the March Beginner Clinic so watch for new players on the courts! Always be encouraging and welcoming. The players learned a lot and had fun. Many thanks to the volunteers who ran the clinic and assisted in coaching: Nancy C, Sharon G, Julie G, Steve H, Juliana B, Ann R, and Joe K.
Dinking Round Robin - FFY - March 26th
The Round Robins that Nancy organizes are always fun and interesting. People get to know others better, there are usually some delicious snacks, and many games of pickleball are played!
A wonderful group of dinkers!
Dinking winners: Cindy M (Gold), Monica K (Silver), and Juliana B (Bronze)
