Growing Leaders!
Principal's Message!
Thank you all for another amazing week of learning and growth! Everyday, I am inspired by watching our kids eager to learn with such enthusiasm and fervor. It takes all of us to create such an atmosphere and mindset. Starting the day with a promise to ourselves that we will be positive and attack the challenges of the day, we have already succeeded.
Thank you PARENT VOLUNTEERS, PTO and STAFF MEMBERS for a SUCCESSFUL Monster Mash-Trunk or Treat NIGHT! The family involvement was incredible! The costumes that walked through our doors were phenomenal....and scary(Adults and students, alike!)! There was candy, popcorn, and hotdogs for everyone! DJ Music filled the cafeteria and Bounce Houses filled the gym! There was something for EVERYONE! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!
Speaking of Halloween Day, please help us keep a stable learning environment for our students, here at FURR. This means that Halloween costumes are NOT allowed during the day but normal school attire is.
Speaking of Halloween Night, I think your costumes will adorn the streets well, if you partake in Halloween night. Please be careful when you venture out at night!
Our Student-Led Conferences were Friday. By having students lead the conference, it gives them ownership in what they are learning. We are teaching them to be LEADERS in what they do and say. Our next Student-Led Conferences will be in the spring.
RED RIBBON WEEK: October 28th - Nov. 1st Below is the schedule for Dress-Up Days for Furr Elementary
OCTOBER 29th...CRAZY HAIR DAY! The PTO will be in the front and back car line on Tuesday for crazy hair day, spraying temporary colored hairspray for $1.00 a color. It's going to be a COLORFUL day at FURR!
LABELING ALL ITEMS: Parents, if possible, please label all items that are sent to school with your child's last name on it. I would rather return an item, back to our students, than for any item never to be reclaimed again. Your help with this would be appreciated.
TARDIES: We have had many students late to school...and late to class, since our weather has started to cool down. When a student is late, they miss out on their class morning meetings! The first part of the day is crucial to the social-emotional well-being of all our students! The day is specifically designed around this and when our students are late, they are missing this vital lesson. Please make sure you are getting your student to school on time! Thank you.
YEARBOOKS: ONLY 2 weeks left to order "THE FIRST EVER ...FURR ELEMENTARY YEARBOOK" for $30.00!!! Don't lose out on this special offer! Order before November 1st here .
STUFF THE BUS: November 4th - 7th. Help us, help others by donating non-perishable items next week during the annual Stuff the Bus event. All items collected will be donated to Bethlehem Place and Grace Bridge Food Pantry. Please note that each campus will be focusing on certain items this year to ensure a wide variety of donated goods. FURR Elementary will be collecting these donated items: Vegetable Oil, Individual sized snacks, and Diapers (size 6).
