Weekly Family Communication
The mission of Holy Rosary School is to help each child discover and fully develop their God-given talents. As a Catholic School community, we strive for excellence in our students’ spiritual, academic, physical, mental, aesthetic, and social-emotional growth. It is our intention that those who attend this institution mature into active citizens leading a committed faith life and reaching out to help others locally, nationally, and internationally with their wisdom, time, talent, and financial resources.
Principal's Message
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
Welcome back from spring break! I hope your family had a blessed Easter and a relaxing break.
By now you've hopefully followed the communications regarding our pastoral transition happening July 1st. As of July 1st, we will have one pastor leading both Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Guadalupe parishes. Our new pastor, Father Phoung Hoang, will be assisted by Father Tim Clark who will be the Parochial Vicar for both parishes. Our new pastoral leadership will also support the two schools in our new parish family.
We will have many opportunities to celebrate Father Oakland and thank him for his service in the coming months. But save the date: May 15th at 7:00 pm, our Parents Club will hold an all school ice cream social in Father Oakland's honor. This will be a chance for us to celebrate the year and thank Father Oakland. We hope to see you all there!
In Christ,
Anna
Faith At Home
Feast day of St. Bernadette– April 16, 2024
St. Bernadette was visited by the Virgin Mary at age 14. Since then, Lourdes has become a pilgrimage place for those seeking healing in the holy waters of the grotto.
Ways to celebrate in your home:
· You can make your own grotto out of rice Krispy treats as a super fun way to celebrate this day!
· Eat some pretzel sticks or rods to represent the firewood that St. Bernadette was collecting when Our Lady of Lourdes first appeared to her!
· Make a holy water bottle necklace for kids to have their own holy water- like Bernadette found at the spring.

2024-25 School Calendar
Ms. Megan’s Counselor Updates
I hope that this Lenten season has been a time of reflection and peace. This month our #WinatSocial focus for 5th-8th grade has been using our mics (voices) for good. The themes of caring for our neighbors and almsgiving aligned nicely with the Lenten season. In Kindergarten-4th grade we focused on loving our neighbors as ourselves and positive peer relationships. Please let me know what questions you have or how I can support: mchoitz@holyrosaryws.org.
Notes & Reminders
Drop Off Reminders
Please do not park and leave your vehicle during morning drop off in front of the school. If you need to walk your child to a door, please use a side street to park. Cars left in front of the school cause a major backup and a safety issue at the roundabout on Genesee and affects families dropping off at both Holy Rosary and Hope Lutheran. The front of the school is for active drop off only; please pull as far forward as you can in order to allow others behind you to come forward as well.
Used Uniforms
We have many skirts, skorts and jumpers up for grabs. If you need any item from the Uniform Closet please contact Nannette at: NannetteBuroker@gmail.com
Currently we are getting requests for red cardigans, cadet jackets and sweatshirts. Please continue to turn in uniform items so the uniform closet can fulfill student requests. Thank you for those families who have turned in outgrown and unused uniforms.

Events & Fundraising
Bingo Bash
THANK YOU FAMILIES!
Thank you to all of the families who signed up for Bingo Bash. Confirmation emails were sent out yesterday for those who have registered. The event is now full and sign-ups are officially closed! Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate any late or walk-up registrations. Doors open promptly at 6pm on Friday. Please remain with your child until signed in.
Reminders: To those attending, please remember that ALL STUDENTS K-8 MUST BE SIGNED IN/OUT with their child’s homeroom teacher. If you are carpooling, it is fine to sign in/out students under your care. We especially do not want students to leave the gym/hall without an adult. Please make sure your child understands this and that you have clearly communicated your carpool plans. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Pick up: is at 8:00 pm. If you arrive a few minutes early while black-out bingo is wrapping up, you may sign your student out with the homeroom teacher and enjoy watching black-out with us. That will help speed things up. We’d like all students to be off campus by 8:15 pm if possible, so staff can clean up.
Cell phones: If they absolutely need to come with your child, they should be off and away at all times.
Behavior: Please remind your child of Safe, Respectful and Responsible behavior during Bingo and emphasize your expectations. We look forward to this event all year and want it to be fun for everyone!!!!
