Note from Ms. Moulton
Greetings, Hosmer Families,
As we head into this week of Thanksgiving, I continue to have immense appreciation for all members of our Hosmer community. Thank you to our hard-working and dedicated faculty and staff who continue to do everything they possibly can to ensure that students are safe, learning, and experiencing the joy of childhood - even in these crazy times. I am also tremendously grateful for our resilient students who have adapted to so many changes and continue to show enthusiasm for learning. Thank you also to all of you, who entrust us daily with your children. Your support for them and for us makes these hard times more than a little bit easier!
As you may have noticed, we have been focusing on gratitude during our daily Morning Announcements. I have attached a photo of additional prompts below and hope that they may serve as nice conversation starters with your family.

"I'm Speechless!" - Student during Morning Announcements
Meet the PE teachers!
Watertown Public Schools Title I Programming
The Watertown Public School System and its Title I Schoolwide Program, K - 8 are committed to continuously improving the opportunities for parents to be actively involved in their child's learning at home and in school. We have found this general education support to be highly valuable in helping students improve their math and literacy skills. Title I is the largest Federally funded supplemental education program. It does not replace what the school does; instead, Title I gives schools and students additional resources and instruction in math and reading. Title I partially funds our math and reading support and after school tutoring. Our tutors work closely with the classroom teachers to help improve students’ skills in reading and writing.
This district Parent Involvement Plan serves to outline overall expectations for parent involvement activities and programs, establish an environment for parental participation in Watertown's Title I programs at the school level, and identify the support which the Title I program can provide to assist schools in achieving their goals of supporting student learning. The Title I Home/School Compact outlines school, parent/guardian, and student responsibilities.
I welcome you to join me for an informal meeting for parents at the Cunniff's upcoming Title I Virtual Coffee via Zoom where we can talk in more detail about the Title I Schoolwide Program and answer any questions you may have. It will be held on Friday, December 4 at 9:00 AM. If you have any questions, please email: erin.moulton@watertown.k12.ma.us.
