WOW! The first two days of school have been AMAZING! We've welcomed over 175 new students, and they are all so sweet and kind! These first few days have been full of learning procedures and routines, meeting new friends, and getting to know each other. We look forward to another terrific 178 days!
I hope to see you on Monday evening for Open House! First grade and Mrs. Smith's class will meet at 6 pm, and Second grade will meet at 7 pm.
During Monday's Solar Eclipse, we will remain indoors. Students may participate in live streaming of the event and other indirect learning opportunities. Recess will be held indoors. If your student will be staying home on Monday, please be sure to notify the office of the absence.

From the H/S Facilitator, Mrs. Mucha
Vacation is over, we are back in school and have so much to do. The beginning of the year is a great time to set new family goals and try new approaches. Getting back in the routine can be tricky and take some time. Kids are very attuned to our feelings and worries even when we don’t say them aloud. Anxiety is on the rise in students and in adults and often can be regulated by play, rest and relaxation. Being mindful on how our schedule affects our family dynamics is very important. A few tips that can be helpful to make school, family and activities a little less stressful.
-Be mindful of if all of the after school activities are enjoyable or hindering the family. Don’t overdo activities just to do them. Our students have a very structured day, freedom to play, be bored or help with dinner are essential to their brain development. Just as adults they need time to unwind and rest their brains.
-Eat dinners together! Dinner can be at 4:15 when they get home before an activity and have a snack on the way home. If you don’t currently eat together for dinner it may take a little bit for the family to be expressive and willing.
-Getting outside to play helps develop the sensory parts of their brains and “dirt won’t hurt!” This type of play lets the brain be a little disorderly and builds their brain to be able to process more stimuli efficiently.
-Sleep is one of the best remedies to anxiety. If the morning is too hard and you have to drag them out of bed every morning that is a sign they need more rest. Balancing rest and activities can decrease the symptoms of anxiety, depression, and ADHD significantly
School Hours 9:05 a.m. - 3:44 p.m.
