Principal Message
Dear Ride Families,
It’s hard to believe our 4th grades are already preparing to go to Collins Intermediate for 5th grade next year. They visited Collins this week to hear about the school, orientation information, picking electives and instruments, and toured the building. I feel like they came back a little bit older. For some reason, that visit makes them stand taller and feel more grown up (than the hour before they went over there) lol…. I love to watch them grow and mature into their own person. I know they will have a great year in 5th grade. There is a link below for future Collins fifth grade parents to complete. Please do so at your earliest convenance.
Also, every parent will need to complete the link below for returning students to Ride. It is a required submission for you to confirm your return and get your Parent Access Account activated for next year. Please do this at your earliest convenance as well.
We opened our spring book fair in the library this week. All the proceeds go to the library to benefit our students. The kids love the library, and we definitely have avid readers at Ride. Be sure to check below to set up your ewallet.
Next week is our Ride Through the Decades annual fund raiser. We will kick off each day by dressing up for a different decade! Monday is the 50’s. Let’s dust off those poodle skirts and leather jackets to show our support!! See below for the theme for each day next week. Don’t forget, we have a fun carnival night planned for Friday night. I hope you can come because it will be a Blast! If you can’t make it, you can still help support the school by participating in the silent auction.
Have a great four-day weekend!
Sincerely,
Megan Burnham

It’s Book Fair Time
Our Book Fair is April 8th – 12th in the school library. During the week, the Book Fair is open from 7:30 – 3:00. We are open the evening of April 11th and April 12th for the second grade program and Ride Through the Decades. All purchases benefit our library and school.
Digital Payment Option for Book Fair
We have a great digital payment option that is highly encouraged for students to use. Parents can set up an eWallet for students, deposit money into it, and students will not have to bring money to school. Visit our Book Fair homepage at
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/sallykrideelementaryschool1
to open up an eWallet account for your child. Any left over money in the eWallet will be put on a gift card for your student to use at future fairs or online. If you have money left over from the last book fair, you can sign in to your ewallet and transfer the money to this book fair.
Teacher Book Fair Wish Lists
Teachers have a wish list of books that they would like for their classroom. If you would like to purchase your child’s teacher a book, each teacher has a box in the book fair with books they would like for their classroom. You can pull a book out of their box and purchase it for them. It is always fun to let your child deliver it as a gift to his/her teacher and classroom.
Thanks for supporting the SKR teachers and the SKR library!

Lunch Sign-Up
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are offering two options for lunch signups. You will have the opportunity to sign up to eat in the cafeteria with your child or outside in our gazebo/picnic table area. You will not be able to change locations after signup is complete. If you sign up to eat outside and it rains, you will be unable to move into the building due to limited seating. You may sign up for another day/time.
Each slot is available for two adults and the child you are eating lunch with..
Please see the schedule below for designated grade level lunch visitor’s days. Make sure that you sign up under the correct time slot for your child’s lunchtime. Each student may have two visitors every 3-4 weeks. This ensures every parent has an opportunity to sign up. Remember to bring a valid id when you visit the building.
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are asking all parents with small children to eat outside in the gazebo area.
