Minding Your Health with Mrs. Cass
February is our heart smart month and will be focused on learning how to keep our hearts healthy. We will talk about how to exercise using the FITT principle (3rd-5th), the benefits of exercise, and some of the risk factors for heart disease. To supplement our topic, the February 3rd Wacky Wednesday will be a special Kids Heart Challenge assembly put on by the American Heart Association. It will be fun-filled with new challenges, prizes, and great information on how to keep our hearts beating strong. We hope to see you there.

Kickin in PE with Mrs. Corsi
Happy February Odyssey Orcas!
Last month we worked on a virtual Iditarod! How did your kiddo do? We will continue the Iditarod challenge through February. This month will be all about heart health and jump rope. Be sure to check out the health and PE lessons for more info!
The specialists are overjoyed to be getting to see students during circle time once per week! We hope our Odyssey Orcas are having fun with Mrs. Cass, Mr. Ryan, Mrs. Whitaker, and myself!
Have you made it to Wacky Wednesday yet? Every Wednesday Odyssey Specialists will host an all-school assembly. Join us every Wednesday at 11:30 to get up and moving, sing songs, hear a read aloud, and play some games!
I hope to see you all at Wacky Wednesday! Be sure to stay healthy, happy, and fit for life!

From The School Nurse
Vaccinations:
Immunizations records for students will need to be in-compliance on the first day of in-person learning. If you are unsure if your student is up-to-date on their vaccinations, please reach out to the school nurse. Contact information below.
Health Information:
Please reach out to the school nurse if your student has any new diagnoses, medical information, medication, and/or health needs. Because it has been so long since we have seen our students in-person we want to ensure that when our Odyssey Orcas do return to our campus, that we have the most up-to-date health information. This important information helps keep our students safe and well. Please see the school nurse’s contact information below.
Be well and stay safe.
