Baseball Cromwell Middle SchoolA Look Into Our Panther Community
7th grade students have started their final reading unit of the year, Historical Fiction. While exploring the Historical Fiction genre, students will learn how settings can deeply impact plot, theme, and characters. Students were given the chose of which book/historical time period they would like to explore. Historical events and time periods included 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, World War II, and the Civil Rights Movement.
We are excited to celebrate Kindness Week beginning on Monday August 15th as we partner with the East Hampton Lions Club. We have various activities throughout the week where our focus is on kindness to ourselves, each other and our panther community. We will end on Monday, April 22nd with a whole school assembly with Chris Poulos, a world champion athlete, youth motivational speaker, and aspiring author who shares powerful life lessons as he demonstrates amazing bicycle stunts. He specializes in core values, anti-bullying, and character education. Below are our winners in our kindness t-shirt contest where their designs will be provided on t-shirts for every student to wear at our assembly on April 22nd!
Students in 6th grade math have begun their work on exponents. Students will learn about exponent notation and simplifying expressions using the Order of Operations.
Our 7th graders visited Mystic Aquarium on Tuesday. Although the sun wasn't out, students had a great time connecting their learning of marine ecosystems and food chains from science classes.
During lunch waves today, we held a Connect-4 competition. Lunch tables took turns coming up to play a game. Our committee, along with our student representatives have been developing activities where students and staff have a small part of their day where they can positively connect with one another while having some fun.
Check out the Eclipse!

School Based Health
Happy New Year! Did you resolve to be more on top of your and your child’s health this year? Here’s an easy solution: Sign your child up for School-Based Health Care. Your child’s school works with Community Health Center, Inc.’s School-Based Health Care program to provide health services to your child during the school day. This means they won’t miss as much class and you don’t need to miss work to support their health care needs.
