Homecoming Information
Homecoming 2022 Information Sheet
When: October 22, 2022 7:00-9:30pm
Where: Red Lion High School Fitzkee Gym
Entrance: Use the Commons Entrance only. You MUST have your ticket and student ID.
Cost: $20 per person (no refunds if you cannot attend/lose your ticket). Cash or check. Make checks payable to Red Lion High School Student Council.
Guests: If you are bringing a guest that is not from Red Lion High School, you MUST fill out a guest form and turn it in by October 13th. Guest forms will not be accepted after October 13th. Read all directions carefully and do not wait until the last minute to get a form or turn it in! Your Guest form must be turned in to purchase a ticket for a guest. You will go in a separate door if you are bringing a guest! (the far left hand door, facing the commons)
Rules: All students must enter by 8:00pm. No one will be admitted entrance after 8pm. If you leave the building, you will not be allowed to re-enter the building. All school rules apply.
Purchasing Tickets: No tickets will be sold at the door. You must purchase your ticket by the end of lunch on October 21st Tickets will be sold during lunch on the following dates:
October 17-18: Seniors and Juniors
October 19-20: Sophomores and Freshmen
October 21: Anyone

School Counseling Information
Counselor Conferences with Seniors have begun and the counselors are working on meeting with all of their seniors.
September 28, 2022: Financial Aid Information Night at Dallastown High School, 6:00 pm
Financial Aid Information Night is for all students and families. It is never too early to learn about how to pay for college. PHEAA representatives will be presenting valuable information regarding grants, scholarships, financial aid, and loans. This event is for both Red Lion and Dallastown families and will be held at Dallastown High School.
October 5, 2022: Military Information Night, 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm
Military Information Night is for any student and family that may have an interest in the US Military. Students and families will have the opportunity to meet with recruiters from all branches of the military. At 6 pm, we will be hosting an ASVAB Interpretation Session for students that took the ASVAB and their families. ASVAB scores will be available for students to pick-up at Military Information Night. Ninth grade students interested in the military are encouraged to attend with their parents/guardians.
October 10, 2022: College Fair at York College, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Explore more than 140 colleges, universities, and technical schools at the PACAC York Regional College Fair on Monday, October 10 at York College of Pennsylvania. The fair is free and there's no registration required — just show up and meet with representatives from schools across the country. The event is geared toward high school students and their families, as well as transfer students and adult learners. Red Lion students are encouraged to stop by the Senior High Counseling Office table and pick up a reflection paper. They may turn in the reflection paper to complete one elective of their Graduation Project. This event will be in the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center.
October 12, 2022: PSAT testing
All Tenth grade students will be able to participate in PSAT testing. Eleventh and Ninth grade students may sign up for an additional fee. Eleventh grade students are encouraged to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT - National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test, as there are possible scholarship opportunities for eleventh grade students. Ninth and Eleventh grade students should sign up in the Counseling Office.
October 12, 2022: FAFSA Completion Night, RLASHS, 5:00 pm - 8 pm, appointments only
FAFSA Completion Night is for Seniors and their families. This event includes both Red Lion and Dallastown families. PHEAA representatives will be assisting students and their parents/guardians with completing the FAFSA. An appointment is required for this event. Parents and Guardians can contact the Counseling Office now to register for this event.
October 13, 2022: Kutztown University Instant Decision Day
Seniors that are interested in attending Kutztown University can sign-up in the Counseling Office to participate in the Instant Decision Day. Kutztown asks all students to complete the application at least 48 hours prior to the Instant Decision day. A link to the application and fee waiver code were sent to seniors on 9/22/2022.
October 19, 2022: York College Instant Decision Day
Seniors that are interested in attending York College can sign up in the Counseling Office for an interview with admissions representatives. Students will receive a decision the day of their interview. Students will need to have the transcript release form signed prior to the event. This can be picked up when students sign up in the Counseling Office.
October 24, 2022: Shippensburg University Instant Decision Day
Seniors that are interested in attending Shippensburg University can sign up in the Counseling Office for an interview with admissions representatives. Students will receive a decision the day of their interview. Students will need to have the transcript release form signed prior to the event. This can be picked up when students sign up in the Counseling Office.
October 26, 2022: Dual Enrollment Information Night
Representatives from local colleges and universities will be at the Senior High Auditorium to present information and answer any questions regarding Dual Enrollment. This event starts at 6:00 pm. Registration is not required to attend this event.
Information from the Career Center
Seniors – mock job interview informational packets will be distributed in homerooms on Monday. Please, as soon as you receive your packet, place your name on the cover. Mrs. Scott will be providing updates via RLATV, but do not delay in preparing your materials. All seniors will be participating in mock job interviews on either November 15th, 16th, or 17th; details regarding your assigned date will be forthcoming. That said, all seniors must show up to their assigned interview with a completed cover letter and resume – review your packet for more information. Finally, Mrs. Scott will be offering one-on-one opportunities throughout the month of October to proofread materials; stay tuned!
New to the Career Center this year will be Lunch and Learns – this is an opportunity for students to visit with potential employers, learn more about their company and opportunities, during all lunch periods. Our first Lunch and Learn:

Yearbooks are Coming!
Ordering Yearbooks (ALL GRADE LEVELS):
Yearbooks are now on sale. There are three ways to order a yearbook: online, by phone, or through the USPS. You may order online at Balfour.com. A paper order form will be mailed to your home address with online, mail, and phone information.
Senior Dedications for Yearbook (CLASS OF 2023):
Senior dedications give you the opportunity to order a special gift for your student. It can include baby/youth/teen images that you choose as well as a message that you write to be included in the Dedication section of the 2023 LION yearbook.
You may purchase and design the message ONLINE ONLY via Balfour.com. A video tutorial is available at https://tinyurl.com/RLPurchaseDedication. When you submit payment, a link will be sent to your email that you provide. Using the link from your email, you set-up the dedication by uploading images and typing the message. Prices vary based on the size of the dedication.
Please understand that due to the size of the dedication and senior section and our publishing deadline, we must have a firm deadline to guarantee yearbook delivery each spring. Dedications will be sold until November 18. Please note, Red Lion Area Senior High School personnel have the right to reject images and messages without question if they are deemed inappropriate. Please avoid submitting photographs with weapons (even squirt guns and bows and arrows), hidden messages, nudity, alcohol, drugs, smoking, profanity, or any other content deemed inappropriate.
