March 2024 Newsletter
From the North High Student Services Department:
The North High Student Services Department wishes you a cheerful March as our temperatures warm up and the official start of Spring is right around the corner. A general reminder that the 3rd quarter ends on Friday, April 1st. Your 3rd quarter grade plays a big part in what you will need to achieve for the 4th quarter in order to meet your academic/grade goals for the second semester. It is your semester grade that will appear on your transcript. Please make sure that make up work is being done and that you are on track in your classes. Communication with your teachers remains a very key part of this process and having a plan in place can really help your efforts. If you need help communicating with your teachers, or just coming up with a better plan feel free to ask your counselor for some help.
Seniors (and parents of seniors) - please especially be aware of your current credit status and that you are on track for graduation. Only one more semester left in the books!
North has five counselors, each with a caseload of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. There is also a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, Reading Specialist and a Transition Specialist located within the Student Services Office. Please feel free to contact us any time with your questions or concerns - contact information is listed at the bottom of this newsletter.
Thank you,
The North High Student Services Department

Calling All Students! Opportunity to Experience Germany first hand - Staying with German Student & Family
The Sheboygan Chapter of People to People has been sponsoring an annual exchange with Sheboygan’s sister city, Esslingen, Germany since 1970. Esslingen is a charming city of about 100,000 located in Southwest Germany on the banks of the Neckar River, near Stuttgart. Since that time over 170 Sheboygan County high school students have participated in this unique program. Many have made life long friendships. “For us, the student exchanges provide the best avenue to help foster the understanding of people and cultures with the youth of our community.” said President - Bob Quasius. People to People exchanges are a rare opportunity to experience another country and culture first hand. The student is not staying in a hotel and visiting local tourist attractions. They stay in a family home learning how a German family lives on a daily basis from food, job to transportation and more.
Please see below for more information about this program

Students riding Shoreline Metro buses!
If you ride the Shoreline Metro Bus Service
The primary method for utilizing this program is through a phone. If you have a phone you will not receive a paper voucher.
Paper vouchers are ONLY for students who do not have a phone. Paper vouchers will not be accepted for students that have forgotten their phone or have a dead phone. (Phones can be charged on Shoreline Metro’s buses). If you do not have your phone you will have to pay the student fare
Vouchers for students that already have a paper bus pass, will not be given a new voucher each week. If a student is losing their bus pass continually , Shoreline Metro will only accept 1 voucher per month, per student. Shoreline Metro tracks all vouchers and may deny the student if this practice continues.
